How to convert FanDuel bonus bets to cash, using FanDuel's own rules
In short: A FanDuel Bonus Bet pays its winnings into your wallet but not its stake, usually expires in 7 days, and — unusually — can be used a portion at a time. A push does not give it back. Bet it at plus money and hedge the other side with cash at another book to keep roughly two-thirds or more.
FanDuel's rules checked against its own help and terms pages on October 14, 2026 (sources at the bottom of this page). Offers and terms change, so read the offer in the app before you bet. 21+ only, and only where FanDuel is licensed.
How a FanDuel Bonus Bet pays
FanDuel's help centre says that when a Bonus Bet wins you keep all of the winnings, but the Bonus Bet portion of the wager — the stake — is not returned. FanDuel separates Bonus Bets from site credit for exactly this reason. A $50 Bonus Bet at +400 that wins adds $200 to your wallet; a $50 cash bet would return $250.
Bonus Bets sit on your account page and bet slip as vouchers, and the expiry date is in the Rewards hub. FanDuel's rewards guide says they expire in 7 days unless otherwise stated.
The FanDuel rules that change how you use one
- Partial use: you can reduce the amount and use only part of a Bonus Bet; the rest stays in your account until it expires. That lets a large Bonus Bet go on two or three of the best-priced markets instead of one.
- One per wager: you cannot combine two Bonus Bets on one wager, though several can sit on the same bet slip on different wagers.
- Pushes: if the bet pushes, the Bonus Bet is not returned. A voided bet does return it, unless it has already expired. Prefer moneylines or half-point lines.
- Restrictions: no round robins, and some Bonus Bets are limited to a sport, a game or a bet type such as Same Game Parlay — the voucher says which.
- Cash out: Cash Out may become available on a Bonus Bet wager once the event is live, but the Bonus Bet stake is excluded from the cash out value.
Bet Reset, Bet Back and the old No Sweat Bet
FanDuel says Bet Reset is the new name for its No Sweat Bet. If the bet you attach it to loses, you are refunded in Bonus Bets up to the token's maximum, and the token's own expiry is shown on the bet slip and account page. It cannot be combined with a Profit Boost or a Bonus Bet.
Bet Back is different: you apply it while a bet is still open, and the stake comes back in Bonus Bets up to a maximum. Either way, the refund is a Bonus Bet, so when you hedge the original bet, count it at roughly 65–75% of face value, not 100%.
FanDuel Profit Boosts
A FanDuel Profit Boost improves the odds of a bet by a percentage of its profit — FanDuel's example is a 20% boost turning +165 into +198 — on pre-game bets, with Live Profit Boosts for in-play. You cannot use one with a Bonus Bet, and cashing out a boosted bet can lose the boost. Each boost's own terms set its limits.
Worked example: converting a $50.00 FanDuel Bonus Bet
Bonus Bet: $50.00 on Team A at +450 (decimal 5.50) at FanDuel. If it wins it pays $225.00; the $50.00 stake is not returned.
Hedge: Team B at −560 (decimal 1.1786), with cash, at a different sportsbook.
Hedge stake = $225.00 ÷ 1.1786 = $190.91.
If Team A wins: $225.00 − $190.91 = $34.09.
If Team B wins: the hedge returns $225.00, a profit of $34.09.
You keep about $34.09 of the $50.00 Bonus Bet either way — a 68.2% conversion, an estimate that holds only if both bets are accepted at these prices.
Illustrative prices, not a current offer or a live market. Real prices move, so recompute with the hedge calculator before you place either bet. The figures come from the same formula the free calculator runs.
Converting a FanDuel bonus bet, step by step
- 1
Open the Bonus Bet in your FanDuel account
FanDuel shows Bonus Bets as vouchers in the Rewards hub and on the bet slip. Note the expiry, any minimum odds, and any sport or bet-type limits shown on the token or in the offer's terms.
- 2
Find a plus-money price at FanDuel
Look for one side of a two-way market at roughly +250 to +500 at FanDuel, inside the token's rules. Main-line moneylines, spreads and totals in major leagues usually price tightest on the other side.
- 3
Find the best price on the other side elsewhere
At a different sportsbook you hold cash at, find the opposite outcome at the best price available. This price decides most of what you keep.
- 4
Size the hedge
Hedge stake = the bonus bet's winnings ÷ the hedge's decimal odds. The free hedge calculator does this for you.
- 5
Place both bets and check the slips
Place the Bonus Bet at FanDuel, confirm it was accepted at your price, then place the hedge straight away. Recompute if either price moved.
- 6
Record the pair as one position
Log both bets and the amount you kept, so you know what each book's bonus bets are actually worth to you.
Mistakes that cost money at FanDuel
- Using a Bonus Bet on a spread or total that can push — FanDuel does not return it.
- Forcing a large Bonus Bet onto one market when FanDuel lets you use part of it now and the rest later.
- Trying to put two Bonus Bets on one wager, or one on a round robin.
- Counting a Bet Reset or Bet Back refund as cash when sizing a hedge. It comes back as Bonus Bets.
- Cashing out a boosted or promotional bet and losing the promotion with it.
- Leaving a Bonus Bet past its date in the Rewards hub. Unless stated otherwise it is 7 days.

Frequently asked questions

Place the Bonus Bet at plus money at FanDuel and bet the other side with cash at another book, sized so both results pay about the same. Expect to keep roughly 65–80%, an estimate that depends on the prices.
Do FanDuel bonus bets return the stake?
No. FanDuel's help centre says you keep the winnings, but the Bonus Bet portion of the wager, the stake, is not returned.
How long do FanDuel bonus bets last?
FanDuel says Bonus Bets expire in 7 days unless otherwise stated. The exact date is in the Rewards hub.
Can you split a FanDuel bonus bet?
Yes. FanDuel lets you use only a portion of a Bonus Bet; the remaining balance stays available until it expires. You cannot combine two on one wager.
