Desert Diamond bonus bets: how they work in Arizona and how to convert them

In short: Bet Desert Diamond — the Arizona book formerly called Desert Diamond Sports — pays a Bonus Bet's winnings but not its stake. A Bonus Bet cannot be split or cashed out, and its promotion terms require odds of −200 or longer and give it 7 days. Hedge it at another Arizona book to convert it.

Desert Diamond's rules checked against its own help and terms pages on October 14, 2026 (sources at the bottom of this page). Offers and terms change, so read the offer in the app before you bet. 21+ only, and only where Desert Diamond is licensed.

Desert Diamond Sports is now Bet Desert Diamond

The book's old help centre says Desert Diamond Sports is now Bet Desert Diamond, and that existing Desert Diamond Sports accounts have been closed. The rules below are from the Bet Desert Diamond help centre.

How a Bet Desert Diamond Bonus Bet pays

Its help centre describes a bonus bet — also called a free bet — as a fixed-amount reward used for a wager instead of cash: winnings are added to your account balance but the stake is not returned. Its balance article says winnings from free bets are withdrawable, and the welcome offer's terms add one condition for that offer: you must wager your initial deposit at least once before withdrawing Bonus Bet winnings.

  • No splitting: a free bet has a fixed amount and cannot be split across several wagers.
  • Minimum odds: the promotion terms allow Bonus Bets only on odds of −200 or longer, and on a parlay every leg must meet that too.
  • No boosted odds: odds improved by a Profit Boost or Odds Boost token cannot be bet with a Bonus Bet.
  • Expiry: the promotion terms say Bonus Bets expire 7 days after issuance.
  • No cash out: Cash Out cannot be used on wagers placed as a free bet.

Odds Boosts

A Bet Desert Diamond boost is a bet token you select on the bet slip for a better payout than the posted odds. Because boosted odds cannot be bet with a Bonus Bet, use boosts on cash bets.

What its terms say about both sides

The welcome offer's terms define bonus abuse to include arbitrage, described as wagering on both sides of a line in an individual game. The clause does not say whether it covers a bet at another sportsbook, so read the offer's terms before hedging a bonus from it, and never bet both sides at Bet Desert Diamond itself.

Worked example: converting a $25.00 Desert Diamond Bonus Bet

Bonus Bet: $25.00 on Team A at +300 (decimal 4.00) at Desert Diamond. If it wins it pays $75.00; the $25.00 stake is not returned.

Hedge: Team B at −380 (decimal 1.2632), with cash, at a different sportsbook.

Hedge stake = $75.00 ÷ 1.2632 = $59.37.

If Team A wins: $75.00 − $59.37 = $15.63.

If Team B wins: the hedge returns $74.99, a profit of $15.62.

You keep about $15.62 of the $25.00 Bonus Bet either way — a 62.5% conversion, an estimate that holds only if both bets are accepted at these prices.

Illustrative prices, not a current offer or a live market. Real prices move, so recompute with the hedge calculator before you place either bet. The figures come from the same formula the free calculator runs.

Converting a Desert Diamond bonus bet, step by step

  1. 1

Open the Bonus Bet in your Desert Diamond account

Check the Bonus Bet's amount and expiry; it must go on one wager at −200 or longer. Note the expiry, any minimum odds, and any sport or bet-type limits shown on the token or in the offer's terms.

  2. 2

Find a plus-money price at Desert Diamond

Look for one side of a two-way market at roughly +250 to +500 at Desert Diamond, inside the token's rules. Main-line moneylines, spreads and totals in major leagues usually price tightest on the other side.

  3. 3

Find the best price on the other side elsewhere

At a different sportsbook you hold cash at, find the opposite outcome at the best price available. This price decides most of what you keep.

  4. 4

    Size the hedge

Hedge stake = the bonus bet's winnings ÷ the hedge's decimal odds. The free hedge calculator does this for you.

  5. 5

Place both bets and check the slips

Place the Bonus Bet at Desert Diamond, confirm it was accepted at your price, then place the hedge straight away. Recompute if either price moved.

  6. 6

Record the pair as one position

Log both bets and the amount you kept, so you know what each book's bonus bets are actually worth to you.

Mistakes that cost money at Desert Diamond

  • Looking for an account under the old Desert Diamond Sports name — those accounts were closed in the rebrand.
  • Trying to split a Bonus Bet. It is a fixed amount for one wager.
  • Adding a leg shorter than −200 to a parlay placed with a Bonus Bet.
  • Picking a boosted price for a Bonus Bet, which is not allowed.
  • Expecting to cash out a Bonus Bet wager early. Cash Out is not available on free bets.
  • Betting both sides at Bet Desert Diamond itself, which its offer terms treat as bonus abuse.
