Fanatics bonus bets and FanCash: how they work and how to convert them
In short: At Fanatics, FanCash converts one-for-one into Bonus Bets, which pay winnings only, as withdrawable cash, and expire 7 days after they reach your account. They can be split into smaller bets. Convert FanCash only when you are ready to bet, then hedge the Bonus Bet at another book.
Fanatics's rules checked against its own help and terms pages on October 14, 2026 (sources at the bottom of this page). Offers and terms change, so read the offer in the app before you bet. 21+ only, and only where Fanatics is licensed.
FanCash and Bonus Bets are two different things
FanCash is Fanatics' rewards currency. Its program terms say you earn it when eligible cash bets settle, at a rate that rises with the odds you bet, and that bets placed with Bonus Bets or any other promotional credit earn none. FanCash is not redeemable for cash; you redeem it for Bonus Bets, Casino Credit where available, or Profit Boost Tokens.
The exchange rate is one-for-one: $5 in FanCash is $5 in Bonus Bets. What changes on conversion is the clock. FanCash earned by betting expires 365 days after your last earning activity (promotional FanCash after 7 days), but a Bonus Bet must be used within seven days of being added to your account.
How a Fanatics Bonus Bet pays
The FanCash terms say that if a bet with a Bonus Bet applied wins, you receive only the winnings, as withdrawable cash, and not the Bonus Bet stake. A $100 Bonus Bet at +300 pays $300, not $400.
- Splitting: Fanatics lets you divide a Bonus Bet in any amount — a $100 Bonus Bet can be one $100 bet or ten $10 bets.
- No combining: a Bonus Bet cannot be combined with cash, another Bonus Bet, or other promotional credits or boosts on the same wager.
- Cash out: the terms say a bet placed with a Bonus Bet may be cashed out for FanCash, with the Bonus Bet stake included in that FanCash amount — FanCash, not cash.
Profit Boost Tokens and Odds Boosts
Fanatics lets you convert FanCash into a Profit Boost Token when one is available for your wager; the FanCash it costs and the boost percentage appear in the bet slip. Converted tokens work only on cash bets, one per wager. Separately, its house rules describe Odds Boosts as promotional bets on specific selections or markets.
Whether a boost beats a Bonus Bet depends on the numbers in the slip. The boosts guide in the TrueEdge Academy works through how to tell.
What Fanatics' terms say about promotions
Fanatics' terms of service list abuse of offers, promotions or bonuses as prohibited conduct, and the FanCash terms let Fanatics suspend or revoke FanCash if it decides the program has been abused or gamed. Use one account, your own, and read an offer's terms before you take it.
Worked example: converting a $100.00 Fanatics Bonus Bet
Bonus Bet: $100.00 on Team A at +400 (decimal 5.00) at Fanatics. If it wins it pays $400.00; the $100.00 stake is not returned.
Hedge: Team B at −500 (decimal 1.2), with cash, at a different sportsbook.
Hedge stake = $400.00 ÷ 1.2 = $333.33.
If Team A wins: $400.00 − $333.33 = $66.67.
If Team B wins: the hedge returns $400.00, a profit of $66.67.
You keep about $66.67 of the $100.00 Bonus Bet either way — a 66.7% conversion, an estimate that holds only if both bets are accepted at these prices.
Illustrative prices, not a current offer or a live market. Real prices move, so recompute with the hedge calculator before you place either bet. The figures come from the same formula the free calculator runs.
Converting a Fanatics bonus bet, step by step
- 1
Open the Bonus Bet in your Fanatics account
If you are holding FanCash, convert only the amount you are about to bet — the 7-day Bonus Bet clock starts when it lands. Note the expiry, any minimum odds, and any sport or bet-type limits shown on the token or in the offer's terms.
- 2
Find a plus-money price at Fanatics
Look for one side of a two-way market at roughly +250 to +500 at Fanatics, inside the token's rules. Main-line moneylines, spreads and totals in major leagues usually price tightest on the other side.
- 3
Find the best price on the other side elsewhere
At a different sportsbook you hold cash at, find the opposite outcome at the best price available. This price decides most of what you keep.
- 4
Size the hedge
Hedge stake = the bonus bet's winnings ÷ the hedge's decimal odds. The free hedge calculator does this for you.
- 5
Place both bets and check the slips
Place the Bonus Bet at Fanatics, confirm it was accepted at your price, then place the hedge straight away. Recompute if either price moved.
- 6
Record the pair as one position
Log both bets and the amount you kept, so you know what each book's bonus bets are actually worth to you.
Mistakes that cost money at Fanatics
- Converting a large FanCash balance to Bonus Bets days before you can use it. FanCash keeps; Bonus Bets expire in 7 days.
- Forcing a whole Bonus Bet onto one market. Fanatics lets you split it, so each piece can sit on its best price.
- Trying to top up a Bonus Bet with cash on the same wager, which the terms do not allow.
- Cashing out a Bonus Bet wager expecting cash — the terms pay that cash out in FanCash.
- Expecting FanCash on bets placed with Bonus Bets. Only eligible cash bets earn it.
