How to keep your accounts open

The habits that separate people still betting at full size in year three from the ones who are not.

Recreational sportsbooks manage how much action they take from consistent winners. That is not a secret and it is not personal — it is in the terms everyone agrees to. What it means practically is that account health is a thing you manage, like bankroll, and the people who do it well keep betting at full size for years.

The rest of the playbook

  1. 1Spread volume. Ten books at moderate size lasts far longer than two at large size, and it is also more opportunities.
  2. 2Round your stakes the way anyone else does — $50 and $100, not $47.13. Suggested stakes in TrueEdge round for you.
  3. 3Keep a normal-looking mix. Parlays, mainlines and the occasional favourite are what most accounts contain.
  4. 4Take the promotions. Every account is supposed to — a promo-heavy profile is one of the healthiest you can have.
  5. 5Use the exchanges for size. Kalshi, Polymarket and Novig take the other side from another user, so there is no house position and nothing to manage.

Where the ceiling actually is

There is no ceiling on an exchange, and the offshore and sharp books take large action by design — Pinnacle and Circa built their businesses on it. So as the recreational books tighten, the answer is not to bet less; it is to have more places to bet. That is what the book access on the higher tiers is for.
