What makes a bet +EV

Every price implies a probability. TrueEdge estimates each outcome's fair probability by removing the margin from the sharpest prices in the market, then flags any book paying more than that fair price. The difference, as a percentage of your stake, is the edge.

A +EV bet is not a bet that will win. It is a bet priced in your favour, which pays off over hundreds of bets rather than on any one of them. Expect to lose plenty of individual +EV bets — especially at longer odds.

The preview on this page is a delayed snapshot from the public feed. +EV prices are usually corrected within minutes, so the live list on the Positive EV board is the one to bet from.

How to use today's list

  1. 1Filter to books you have accounts at and that are licensed where you are.
  2. 2Check the price is still on the book's betslip before you bet.
  3. 3Stake a small, consistent fraction of your bankroll. TrueEdge suggests a fractional-Kelly stake, capped at a maximum you set.
  4. 4Track every bet against the closing line. Beating the close consistently is the evidence that your edges are real.

What to expect

  • Long losing runs are normal, even when every bet has an edge.
  • Fair value is an estimate. Thin markets and props have wider error.
  • Books limit bettors who consistently beat their prices.

Frequently asked questions

What are +EV bets?

A +EV (positive expected value) bet is one whose price pays more than the outcome's fair probability justifies. Over many bets, the average result is a profit equal to the edge, though any single bet can lose.

How do you find +EV bets today?

By comparing every book's price with a fair price built from the sharpest books in the market, with their margin removed. TrueEdge does this continuously across sportsbooks and exchanges and lists every price that beats fair value.

What is a good EV percentage?

Most genuine edges on main markets are small — one to five percent. Much larger figures appear on props and thin markets, where the fair price itself is less certain, so treat them with more caution.
